Meet the Foundation Team

Compassionate advocates carrying April’s legacy forward through community connection.

The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 in memory of April Tayler Bocian, whose warmth, empathy, and love of life touched everyone around her. After April died by suicide shortly after her seventeenth birthday, her family and community created a foundation that could turn profound loss into purposeful action. Today, the foundation honors her legacy by raising awareness of depression, mental illness, and suicide prevention. From its roots in Grove City and its connection to the greater Pittsburgh community, the organization brings together families, volunteers, donors, and partners who believe no one should face mental health struggles alone. Through educational outreach, resource-sharing, wellness initiatives, and annual fundraising events, the foundation works to build understanding, compassion, and hope.
