The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 in memory of April Tayler Bocian, whose warmth, empathy, and love for others left a lasting impression on those who knew her. After April died by suicide at age 17, her family and community created the foundation to turn profound loss into meaningful mental health awareness and suicide-prevention advocacy. Rooted in the Grove City and greater Pittsburgh communities, the foundation brings people together through education, fundraising, volunteer involvement, and partnerships. While this page helps NYC visitors locate crisis resources, the foundation’s purpose remains the same everywhere: reduce isolation, encourage caring conversations, and remind people affected by mental illness or suicide loss that support and hope matter.
