Established in 2015, the April T. Bocian Foundation honors the life of April Tayler Bocian and works to build greater awareness of mental health, depression, and suicide prevention. April was known for her warmth, empathy, and love of basketball, yet she struggled privately with mental illness. Her death inspired a family and community commitment to help others feel seen, supported, and connected to help. From its roots in the greater Pittsburgh region and Grove City community, the foundation has grown into an active nonprofit that brings people together through its annual golf outing, volunteer involvement, wellness partnerships, and educational outreach. Its vision remains clear: turn remembrance into real change through compassion, conversation, and prevention advocacy.
For Florida charity golf tournaments, start with nonprofit websites, local golf course event calendars, regional charity directories, and community event listings. Look for clear information about the beneficiary, registration deadlines, sponsorship packages, course location, and rain policies. The April T. Bocian Foundation’s golf outing supports its Pennsylvania-based mental health and suicide prevention mission; its event materials are available directly through the foundation.
