Compassionate advocates honoring April through community-centered prevention work.
The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 to honor the life and memory of April Tayler Bocian, a compassionate young woman who struggled privately with depression and mental illness. Following her death by suicide, April’s family and supporters created the foundation so her story could inspire understanding, conversation, and action. Today, the organization advances mental health awareness and suicide prevention through community events, volunteer involvement, fundraising, and connections to trusted resources. With roots in Grove City and the greater Pittsburgh area, the foundation brings families, friends, sponsors, and advocates together around a shared purpose: helping others feel seen, supported, and less alone. Every event and partnership carries April’s legacy forward with compassion, hope, and a commitment to meaningful change.
The foundation’s event opportunities include its annual golf outing fundraiser, golf team registration, sponsorship participation, and volunteer involvement. It also shares information about the EmpowHer Retreat, a wellness-focused program associated with the foundation. Event dates, registration forms, sponsorship materials, and participation details may be provided through the foundation’s website or by contacting the organization directly.
