The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 in memory of April Tayler Bocian, a compassionate young woman whose life was cut short by suicide shortly after her seventeenth birthday. Her family and community created the foundation so that April’s story could inspire understanding, connection, and prevention. Today, the foundation honors her legacy by raising awareness of mental health, depression, and suicide prevention through fundraising, outreach, and resource sharing. From its Grove City base to the greater Pittsburgh area, the organization brings people together around honest conversations and practical support. Through the annual Golf Outing, partnerships with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and EmpowHer Retreat, and committed volunteers, the foundation works toward a Pennsylvania where no one feels alone in their struggle.
You can support the foundation by registering a team for the annual golf outing, becoming an event sponsor, volunteering, sharing mental health awareness messages, or making an inquiry directly with the foundation. Each form of involvement helps advance education about depression and suicide prevention while strengthening the community of people committed to honoring April’s legacy.
