The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 in memory of April Tayler Bocian, a compassionate young woman whose life was cut short by suicide one week after her seventeenth birthday. Her family and supporters transformed profound loss into a mission of awareness, connection, and prevention. Rooted in April’s story and active in the Grove City community, the foundation brings people together through education, crisis-resource sharing, volunteer involvement, and annual fundraising events. Its work also reaches the greater Pittsburgh area through partnerships with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the EmpowHer Retreat. The foundation’s vision is simple and enduring: create real change by making mental health conversations more open, compassionate, and accessible to those who need them.
