Meet Our Foundation Team

A compassionate community united in honoring April’s lasting legacy.

The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 in memory of April Tayler Bocian, a compassionate young woman whose life was cut short by suicide one week after her seventeenth birthday. Inspired by her warmth, empathy, and love for others, the foundation transforms personal loss into purposeful mental health awareness and suicide-prevention advocacy. What began as a family’s commitment to honor April has grown into a community-centered nonprofit that connects people with resources, raises funds through its annual Golf Outing, and supports wellness initiatives such as the EmpowHer Retreat. With roots in Grove City and the greater Pittsburgh community, the foundation works to make conversations about depression, mental illness, and seeking help more open, informed, and compassionate.
