The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 to honor the memory of April Tayler Bocian, a compassionate young woman whose private struggles with depression and mental illness led to a profound loss. Her family and community transformed that loss into a purpose: helping others speak more openly about mental health, depression, and suicide prevention. Today, the foundation brings people together through awareness efforts, community fundraising, volunteer involvement, trusted resource sharing, and its connection with the EmpowHer Retreat. Guided by compassion and April’s legacy, the foundation seeks to foster understanding for young people, families, and anyone affected by mental illness or suicide loss. Its vision remains clear: create meaningful community change through empathy, education, connection, and hope.
This program focus connects young women with mental wellness encouragement, open mental health conversations, and supportive community opportunities associated with the April T. Bocian Foundation.
