Established in 2015, the April T. Bocian Foundation was created in memory of April Tayler Bocian, whose warmth, empathy, and love for others continue to inspire its work. After April’s death by suicide, her family and community committed to transforming profound loss into meaningful mental health awareness and suicide prevention advocacy. Today, the foundation brings together volunteers, donors, families, and local partners through fundraising events, educational outreach, and connections to trusted resources. Its annual Golf Outing and partnerships with AFSP and EmpowHer Retreat help extend that mission throughout Grove City and the greater Pittsburgh region. Every volunteer contribution supports a more compassionate community—one where conversations about depression, mental illness, and hope can happen openly and with care.
