The Foundation Behind the Mission

Compassionate advocates honoring April through awareness, support, and connection.

The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 to honor the memory of April Tayler Bocian, a compassionate young woman whose life was affected by depression and mental illness. Created from a family’s profound loss, the foundation turns remembrance into action through mental health awareness, suicide prevention advocacy, community fundraising, and connections to support resources. Its work includes an annual Golf Outing, volunteer engagement, an affiliation with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and support for the EmpowHer Retreat. The foundation believes lasting change happens when people speak openly, listen with empathy, and stand beside individuals and families who need support. Every program and partnership carries forward April’s legacy of warmth, care, and meaningful connection.
