Meet the Foundation Team

Compassionate advocates united by remembrance, awareness, and community support.

The April T. Bocian Foundation was established in 2015 to honor the memory of April Tayler Bocian, a compassionate young woman whose private struggle with depression and mental illness ended in suicide at age 17. Her family and community transformed profound loss into a commitment to mental health awareness, depression education, and suicide prevention advocacy. From its roots in Grove City and April’s Pittsburgh story, the foundation brings people together through fundraising, volunteer involvement, wellness partnerships, and access to reliable resources. The annual Golf Outing, connection with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and support for EmpowHer Retreat reflect a mission built on action as well as remembrance. Every supporter helps carry April’s legacy forward with compassion, honest conversation, and hope.
